Terms of Service
Effective date: April 1, 2025

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and The Doughy Group, LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Doughy," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of getdoughy.com (the "Site") and every product and service we sell through it (together, the "Services"). By using the Site or buying a Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or buy a Service.
1. Who we are and what we do
Doughy is a savings-first tax and accounting service. Licensed tax advisors (CPAs, EAs, and other licensed tax professionals) find and put in place lawful tax savings strategies for individuals and business owners, then handle ongoing accounting and filing. Our advisors are located in the United States. Doughy uses artificial intelligence tools to help advisors work faster. AI assists; it never advises you on its own. A licensed advisor reviews every finding and every deliverable before it reaches you.
Doughy does not provide legal advice or legal services. Nothing on the Site is legal advice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Services. The Services are offered to persons and businesses in the United States. If you use the Site from outside the United States, you are responsible for following your local laws.
3. The Services
3.1 Free savings calculator. The calculator on the Site produces a likely range of tax savings based on the answers you give. The range is not a promise and is not tax advice. Individual results vary based on your specific tax situation.
3.2 Tax Savings Review. A one-time review ($397 personal, $597 business) in which a licensed advisor reviews your most recent tax return and the details you share, then delivers your savings number and a plan to capture it. The review is not a tax filing and does not put any strategy in place. The review is covered by the Guarantee Terms below.
3.3 Tax Savings Consult. A one-hour, one-on-one session with a licensed advisor for $349, delivered by video or phone, in which the advisor learns your situation and hands you a prioritized action plan. The consult is not the Tax Savings Review and does not include a savings number. Payment is made first; scheduling details are sent after payment. The consult fee is non-refundable once paid, except where required by law.
3.4 Implementation. After a review, Doughy may offer to put the identified strategies in place for a custom-quoted fee, typically between $500 and $25,000 depending on the strategies and your situation. Implementation is quoted in writing and begins only after you accept the quote. If you accept an implementation quote within 30 days of receiving your review, the review fee is credited toward the implementation fee. The credit does not apply to Doughy Plans or other Services.
3.5 Doughy Plans and a la carte services. Ongoing plans (individual plan at $99 per month on a 12-month term; business plans at $599, $999, and $1,999 per month by complexity) provide year-round savings monitoring, ongoing implementation, done-for-you bookkeeping, and annual tax preparation and filing as described on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. Tax preparation, bookkeeping cleanup, and done-for-you bookkeeping are available a la carte only to clients who have completed a Tax Savings Review. Your advisor recommends the plan tier that fits after your review.
3.6 Your accounting software stays yours. Where a Service involves your books, we work inside your own QuickBooks or Xero account under your login and permissions. We do not move your books to another platform. You may revoke our access at any time.
4. What you agree to provide
The Services depend on accurate, complete, and timely information from you, including your prior tax returns, financial records, and honest answers in the calculator and intake process. You represent that everything you provide is true and complete. Doughy is not responsible for outcomes that result from inaccurate or incomplete information. Material misstatements also affect the Guarantee Terms.
5. Pricing, payment, and subscriptions
- All prices are in US dollars and are shown on the Site before you buy. Prices may change; the price at the time of your purchase applies.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you authorize Doughy and Stripe to charge your payment method for the amounts you agree to.
- Doughy Plans bill monthly in advance. The individual plan has a 12-month minimum term. Business plans also have a 12-month term, paid monthly. Business plans renew automatically unless canceled, and you may cancel with at least 30 days' written notice. If we are unable to collect payment for any reason, you are liable for the full amount owed for any work completed up to that point.
- You may manage or cancel a plan through the Stripe customer portal linked from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, subject to any minimum term. Plan fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Doughy does not offer financing or buy-now-pay-later options.
6. Guarantee
The Tax Savings Review is covered by the Guarantee Terms, which are part of these Terms and are set out in full below and on the Site. In short: if your review does not find at least the cost of the review in tax savings, you may choose a full cash refund of the review fee or a credit of equal value toward your next Doughy service, provided you claim within 30 days and the facts you gave us were materially accurate. No other Service carries a guarantee.
7. No guarantee of results
Except as stated in the Guarantee Terms, Doughy does not guarantee any particular tax outcome, refund, or savings. Tax law changes, and every situation is different. Figures shown on the Site (including calculator ranges, example scenarios, and client outcomes) are illustrations or historical results, not promises. Individual results vary based on your specific tax situation.
8. Your account and communications
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email, and that electronic notices satisfy any requirement that a communication be in writing. Transactional emails (receipts, scheduling links, account notices) are part of the Services. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.
9. Acceptable use and intellectual property
You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and only as intended. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or resell any part of the Site or the Services. All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, the Doughy Tax Savings Recipe™ and its related materials, and software, belongs to Doughy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Deliverables we create for you (your savings plan, filed returns) are yours to use for your own tax and financial purposes.
10. Third-party services and links
The Services rely on third-party providers (for example, payment processing, hosting, email delivery, and electronic signatures). The Site may link to third-party sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Where you connect a third-party account (such as QuickBooks or Xero) to the Services, you authorize the exchange of information needed to deliver the Services, and you may disconnect at any time.
11. Disclaimers
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS, THE SITE AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOUGHY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE SITE MAY CONTAIN ERRORS AND MAY CHANGE AT ANY TIME.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOUGHY AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, ADVISORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR THE SERVICES. DOUGHY'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO A SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DOUGHY FOR THAT SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Doughy and its members, managers, employees, advisors, and service providers from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
14. Disputes: arbitration, class action waiver, and opt-out
14.1 Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration or a lawsuit, you agree to email hello@getdoughy.com describing the dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it with you.
14.2 Binding arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, or the Services that is not resolved informally will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single neutral arbitrator, under the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitrator decides all issues, including the scope and enforceability of this section. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. Arbitration may be conducted by video or in Harris County, Texas, unless the parties agree otherwise.
14.3 Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Doughy may seek injunctive relief in court to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
14.4 Class action waiver. YOU AND DOUGHY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person.
14.5 Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration section by emailing hello@getdoughy.com with your name and the email on your account within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14.6 Fees. Filing and arbitrator fees are allocated under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
15. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. For any matter not subject to arbitration, you and Doughy consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.
16. Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Site or a Service if you breach these Terms, provide materially false information, or use the Services unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive (including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and disputes) survive termination.
17. General
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Guarantee Terms, and any written quote or plan agreement you accept make up the entire agreement between you and Doughy about the Services and replace prior versions. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable part is replaced by an enforceable one that comes closest to its intent. You may not assign these Terms; Doughy may assign them to an affiliate or successor. No partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship is created. A printed copy of these Terms and of any electronic notice is admissible in proceedings. These Terms are written in English.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms on the Site with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email. Continued use of the Services after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply retroactively to a Service you already purchased.
